The Auction

There are many of Mark Shafer’s original artworks to be auctioned off on Nov 10th. Mark was a master at capturing Fairfield’s history in beautiful detailed colorful paintings and drawings. A live auction will begin at 8:00 PM that night. A display will be available for viewing during the day of Nov 10th, and bids can be made by texting (641) 919-2121 to be included in the auctions.

There will also be a silent auction and “Buy it Now” area. All these options will include many other well know artists works and items including quilts, wood works, jewelry, bronze sculpture, a dinner by Chef Anderson Hardy (see below), wine, FA&CC Tickets, Whiskey Tasting Basket & Sampling event, and much more. Full list will be on Website the week before the event.

Signed & numbered, limited edition hand-pulled silkscreen is a study of the bell tower on the 1868 Vernon School, which was featured on the cover of the Iowa Magazine.
That issue appears in the 1989 Kevin Costner movie “Field of Dreams”, on the dashboard of the farm truck.
